New Delhi: The Varanasi court on Thursday (April 8) gave permission to the Indian Archaeological Survey Board (ASI) to survey the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and the Jnanavapi Mosque complex.
The court heard the plea of lawyer Vijay Shankar Rastogi seeking the handing over of the land where the mosque is located to the Hindus.
The Anjuman Intejamiya Mosque Committee filed an objection in January 2020 against the application for a survey of the Compound of Knowledge. After the court order, the ASI is expected to form a committee.
