The longstanding relationship between swimmer Emily Seebohm, who won the Olympic gold medal, and radio host David « Luttsy » Lutteral from Brisbane is over.
The high-profile couple, who started dating in 2019 after Seebohm’s messy breakup with fellow swimmer Mitch Larkin, have reportedly split due to their colliding lifestyle.
The duo were a prominent part of the Brisbane social scene and weren’t seen together until December at a racing meet-up.
The 28-year-old Seebohm had even joked about marrying the 44-year-old Nova breakfast host when she posted a post on social media last year that suggested that a proposal was in her future.
« She suggests it is my step, my step would be obvious to propose, » replied Lutteral as he discussed the post on the radio. « It’s nice to know your head is there. »
Seebohm spent two months in Budapest at the end of last year and took part in the International Swimming League. The Courier Mail said they broke up shortly after they returned.
The two-time Olympic relay gold medalist has since deleted all of Lutteral’s photos from her Instagram page.
It is the second public breakup that Seebohm endured after her chaotic breakup with Larkin.
Larkin and Seebohm were the golden pair of Australian swimmers who dated three years before the backstrokers split over the allegations he cheated on.
Seebohm repeatedly targeted Larkin on social media after their ugly breakup, but denied her allegations and has since moved on with law student Sinead Cronin.
Seebohm posted a heartfelt admission on Instagram that revealed her unhealthy obsession with losing weight. This resulted in seizures, flushing, taking laxatives, and skipping meals.
The 28-year-old pledged to treat her body better in 2021 and hoped her story would encourage others battling eating disorders to do the same.
