Federal member for Maranoa, David Littleproud, has encouraged the residents of his electorate to commemorate ANZAC Day 2021 in a meaningful way after the entry ceremonies of the 2020s.
Last year’s ceremonies were hampered by coronavirus restrictions, and dedicated Aussies across the country lined their front yards for an unprecedented dawn service.
This year’s formalities have returned to normal. Mr Littleproud said there was a special time on the Australian calendar for residents to remember the services and sacrifices of our service staff.
« Maranoa has a proud history of military service and Anzac Day is an opportunity for us to show our respect and gratitude for the service and sacrifice of all those who have served us and given us the freedoms we’re enjoying today, « said Littleproud.
« Last year, with the challenges of the coronavirus, we found new and creative ways to honor those who serve and have served – dawn vigils, private flower tributes, and contacting current and former defense officials to check-in and for them Thanking their services to service.
« This year, I encourage everyone, if possible, to attend a local worship service and show their respect for those who have served, subject to local health advice. »
In essence, Mr. Littleproud, ANZAC Day was a time for personal reflection, with a number of opportunities for residents to commemorate the fallen.
“However you choose to celebrate the day, please do so in a respectful and safe manner to ensure that our veterans, current members of the Australian Defense Forces, their families and the thousands of descendants of our veterans know we value the contribution of those who have served our country, ”he said.
« With many options to commemorate this Anzac Day, we as a nation can all proudly continue the legacy, service and sacrifice on Anzac Day in 2021. »
While the coronavirus pandemic is still ours Affected way of working, there are ways Australians can celebrate Anzac Day.
