Ebene Magazine - It is wrong to allow nominee members to vote. We are the majority - Minister Kandasamy ta

The Narayanasamy government is set to seek a no-confidence vote in the Pondicherry Assembly today on the orders of the Deputy Governor. At the same time, the ruling party is realizing that MLAs are not strong enough for them.

Kandasamy said: Tamilisai Soundarajan has been sworn in as the Deputy Governor of Tamil Nadu. So far in the history of Pondicherry everyone has been sworn in in English. It is gratifying that Tamil music has been sworn in in the Tamil language.

We have 12 elected MLAs. There are 11 people elected by the opposition. In that sense, we have the majority of the members. But the nominee members allowed three to vote.

Perhaps if the nominee members are allowed to vote, Chief Minister Narayanasamy will convene the assembly and address what the BJP government has done against this regime. We will then submit our resignation before requesting a confidence vote. Let it be said among the people that allowing nominated members to vote is anti-democratic. This was stated by Minister Kandasamy.

Rangasamy made a similar comment two days ago. But Narayanasamy said he was not going to resign. But in the current context, political critics say, what the minister says is going to happen.

Political critics say Narayanasamy will try to win the sympathy of the people by speaking out at the last minute. But there are also political critics who say this is a past attempt.
