The Liberal Democratic Party will support an agreement on measures to further reduce and limit strategic offensive arms (START), but only because of the unstable international situation after the change of power in the United States. This was stated by the leader of the faction Vladimir Zhirinovsky.
“Of course, we reluctantly support ratification without any enthusiasm for one reason that the state of international relations is so flimsy that something could happen at any moment. And it will be worse than not ratifying the treaty, ”
He recalled that in 2010 the Liberal Democratic Party did not support the ratification of a similar agreement, as the situation was better.
“We proceeded from the assumption that they would not do it. And we didn’t like how they fulfilled the conditions for START II: they walk around our factories, everyone counts, they look, we honestly cut the warheads. And they do not let them in, as they destroyed the weapon. And they unscrewed it and put it in the warehouse ”,
Let us remind you that today the State Duma is considering a bill on the ratification of the SDS introduced by Russian President Vladimir Putin following a conversation with the newly elected head of the United States Joe Biden.
