Severe stomach pain sent gymnast McKayla Maroney to the emergency room this week, she said in an Instagram post.
The 25-year-old Olympic champion posted a photo of herself in the hospital on Thursday, with her eyes closed and a pink mask under my chin.
« On Tuesday I vomited all day, with severe back pain and Stomach ache, « wrote Maroney on the social media page.
« Had to go to the emergency room at 3am because the pain was getting worse and I couldn’t stop vomiting … I just got my CT scan back. I have a couple of kidney stones. »
Maroney has updated that she is now out of the emergency room, but « unfortunately nothing has changed, still regarding pain management. »
Maroney was part of the « Fierce Five » team that ran the Olympics Games dominated London 2012, and her « unimpressed » face after winning a silver medal will live on in Internet lore.
25-year-old Maroney is one of the many American gymnasts who spoke out against Larry Nassar before he was convicted of sexual abuse in 2018. She used her social media feeds to urge American gymnastics to be more accountable for their role in the Nassar debacle.
