Law enforcement agencies in North County reported 83 such thefts as of January 2020, Oceanside as of July 25 alone.
One person was burned and 24 people were displaced after hash oil caused an explosion a mile away Friday morning was heard, officials from the San Diego Fire Rescue said.
Neighbors were evacuated from the area because the explosion was so severe it buckled an outside wall, battalion chief Kerry-Shannon Grieser told reporters, including OnScene TV.
The first call came just after 8 a.m. when someone called 911 on University Avenue near Marlborough Avenue to report, heard an explosion and broken windows, and saw smoke. Firefighters looked around the area but could not find any fire.
A second caller said the explosion occurred in a two story apartment complex on Marlborough Avenue north of Landis Street.

Firemen evacuated the complex. A neighbor told OnScene TV that a big boom woke him and shook the ground.
The fire brigade’s hazardous substances team was called in on site, as were officials from the district’s Ministry of Environmental Health.
The Red Cross was tapped to help residents displaced by the explosion. The Narcotics Task Force has also been informed of the incident.
The explosion caused approximately $ 100,000 in damage to the building and an additional $ 10,000 in damage to the contents inside.
