BANGALORE: Badminton legend Prakash Padukone, who was hospitalized with coronavirus infection, is recovering and is expected to return home in two or three days.
Just 10 days ago, Prakash, his wife Ujala and his daughter Anisha had symptoms of infection. Covid was sure to be present when tested. They were all in solitary confinement. But Prakash was not short of fever. According to Vimal Kumar, Prakash’s ally and Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy (PPBA) director, he was admitted to a Bangalore hospital on Saturday.
Prakash is now healthy. Will return home in two or three days. His wife and daughter are at home, Vimal said.
The 65-year-old Prakash became India’s first player to win the prestigious All England Championship. He had accomplished this in 1980.
Prakash is also India’s first player to win a medal at the World Championships. He was a bronze medalist in the 1983 championship in Denmark.
