Flights from India to New Zealand will be suspended from April 11 to 28 as a temporary ban on all travelers from India due to the rising incidence of Govt-19 in India, Xinhua news agency reported.

The Prime Minister of New Zealand (Jacinda Ardern) told a news conference that anyone in India would be barred from entering New Zealand until April 28. Brother Ordner said the ban would apply to everyone, including New Zealand citizens living in India.

The Prime Minister said he understood that the temporary ban would affect New Zealand citizens and citizens currently living in India. But he said, « The ban is intended to reduce the risks to passengers. Therefore, citizens must feel their sense of responsibility and duty. »

Today 23 people from abroad were confirmed to have corona infection. That includes 17 people from India. Due to this, a temporary ban has been imposed on those coming from India.

Today (Thursday) 126,789 people in India were confirmed to be infected with Govt-19. This is the highest number of casualties in a single day since the outbreak began last year.
