JSC Transneft – Western Siberia put into operation a testing laboratory for the study of oil products at the Sokur linear production dispatch station (LPDS) in the Novosibirsk region.
On the basis of the new laboratory, they will control the quality of gasoline and diesel fuel transported from the Omsk refinery through the Omsk-Sokur main oil product pipeline to the LPDS for further shipment of oil products by rail and their delivery to the Sokur oil depot.
Laboratory equipment will expand the list of research performed at the station. In addition to determining the concentration of iron in motor gasoline, laboratory technicians will be able to analyze the presence of two more metals – manganese and lead. This will provide an opportunity to provide services for the transportation and supply of oil products to consumer companies at a high quality level. The infrastructure and functions of the laboratory are integrated into the Unified Laboratory Information System (ELIS) of PJSC Transneft, which is currently operating in all branches of JSC Transneft Western Siberia.
The laboratory provides specialized rooms for acceptance and control analyzes, chromatographic research methods, a warehouse for storing arbitration samples. The building is equipped with modern supply and exhaust ventilation and air conditioning systems to maintain the microclimate in accordance with labor protection requirements and industrial safety standards. Special equipment is installed in the storage warehouse for arbitration samples – explosion-proof refrigerators. Warehouses are also equipped to store standard samples of petroleum products, reagents, materials and flammable liquids.
A separate room is provided for testing the octane numbers of motor gasolines. In the future, a modern installation for determining the cetane number of diesel fuel will be installed in the same room. This equipment will be used for the first time in the testing laboratories of Transneft Western Siberia.
The construction of the testing laboratory was carried out as part of a comprehensive program for the reconstruction of site facilities at LPDS Sokur. The goal of the program is a complete modernization of the plant’s production infrastructure in accordance with the requirements of technical regulations, industrial and environmental safety.
