EbeneNews – AU – We bring you & friends Thelma Plum for a special Ausmusic Month event

To celebrate Ausmusic month and NAIDOC week next month, triple j is broadcasting a special live music event: Thelma Plum and her friends performing at Brisbane’s Old Museum

This once-in-a-lifetime performance will see Thelly bring her acclaimed debut album Better In Blak to life at one of the city’s most treasured locations, backed by a list of special guests (Does anyone have information on the current whereabouts of Paul McCartney?)

The concert will take place on Thursday, October 29, with a very limited number of tickets available through the Old Museum here

triple j will also host a special of the show, and we’ll connect you with video clips on our social media as well, so you don’t have to worry about missing the action

Joining the triple j Breakfast for the announcement, Thelma said that with the pandemic putting live music on ice, the only concert practice she’s had is « lots of karaoke nights with friends at home ”(What about her favorite song?“ Usually Sherly Crow’s “Strong Enough”, or a Delta Goodrem song ”)

“But I can’t say how keen I am to perform a show in front of people,” she added “It’s going to be very intimate, COVID-free… I’m going to have some really special friends with me «

The Gamilaraay songwriter turned a few dark years into her strongest work to date, with help from Paul Kelly, Dave Le’aupepe and Sir Paul McCartney

The show follows Thelma’s AFL Grand Finals performance and the release of a special extended digital edition of Better In Blak to mark her first anniversary

This new edition of the album is available from this Friday, October 23 and includes some new goodies, as well as new versions of ‘Clumsy Love’

Thelma’s debut album is an album that not only re-established Thelma as one of Australia’s best vocals, but also introduced the songwriter to a whole new generation of fans. Better In Blak also made history when her title song came in 9th on the Top 100 of 209 charts, making Thelma the highest Indigenous artist in countdown history.

Think about all the amazing music from women that we love now that didn’t even exist 10 years ago

« See you soon that I can and be good to each other and I love you all so much »
