Emmerdale stars Mark Jordon and Laura Norton have opened up about their wedding plans, admitting that they had hoped to tie the knot this year.
The real-life couple got engaged last year, though it seems that the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has derailed their original plans.
Appearing together on today’s (September 2) Loose Women, the two were speaking about their engagement when they were asked when the wedding will happen.
« You tell us, » Mark replied. « We had hoped it would be this year, I went off on a tour and then we were planning everything, and we were like, ‘As soon as the tour’s done we can scoot off’. And now this pandemic’s happened. »
During the chat, Mark and Laura also spoke about how a relationship blossomed between them, explaining that it wasn’t love at first sight.
While they first met when Mark did a short stint as Daz Spencer in 2014, Laura said they kept in touch and « had a little reunion » a year later, before things developed further.
Asked whether anyone on Emmerdale suspected they were an item, Laura added: « We didn’t even know! We had a friendship and the beginnings of a relationship over the telephone. It’s boring. »
Emmerdale currently airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7pm on ITV. Loose Women airs weekdays at 12pm on ITV.
