The Thanksgiving weekend football festival is missing some of the dishes that have become mainstays.

Timetables changed by the pandemic and delayed seasons have taken off the table a number of rivalry games that have become a staple of the last weekend of November, including the Michigan-Ohio state and all those state matchups from ACC and SEC schools like Clemson South Carolina.

The Apple Cup between Washington and Washington State is canceled. The same goes for the longstanding rivalry between Minnesota and Wisconsin for Paul Bunyan’s ax. It is the first time since 1906 that the Gophers and Badgers have stopped playing.

College football weekend is still pretty rife, with the Iron Bowl between No.. 22 Auburn and No.. 1 Alabama as the main event on Saturday and two games corresponding to ranked teams on Friday with an impact on playoffs and conference titles.

No.. 2 Notre Dame (CFP No.. 2) plays at No.. 25 North Carolina in a game that could destroy the ACC’s hopes of getting two teams into the college football playoffs.

In the Big 12, No.. 15 Iowa State is facing No.. 20 Texas. The Cyclones get a place in the conference title game with a win. A Longhorn win complicates matters and leaves all competitors at least two conference losses and head-to-head tiebreakers all over the place.

The soccer feeding frenzy might not have everything you want, but there is still plenty to choose from this weekend.

A couple of dire losses got the tar heels to reach the ACC title game, but QB Sam Howell and his crew have a huge offense. NORTH CAROLINA 35-31.

The Cyclones are 3-17 against the Longhorns and will try to beat Texas for the first time in consecutive seasons. IOWA STATE 27-23.

In the last six games in which both teams are listed, the Tigers are 4-2, including last year’s victory. But the flood has not lost Iron Bowls in a row with Nick Saban as coach. ALABAMA 42-21.

The Illinois allow quarterbacks to complete 71% of their passes. You’ve been better the past three weeks, but here comes Justin Fields. OHIO STATE 52-21.

The Tigers have won eight out of nine since the Aggies joined the SEC, but they seem ripe for a repayment from A&M. TEXAS A&M 38-28.

The Wildcats are transitioning from a 60-point loss on a shorthanded squad to Alabama to the nation’s hottest quarterback in Kyle Trask. FLORIDA 45-20.

The Ducks won 11 out of 12 in the rivalry that has been searching for a new name since the end of the Civil War. OREGON 31-21.

Since winning 537 yards in the opening game against Maryland, the undefeated Wildcats have been kept below 300 yards in three of four games. NORTHWEST 23-14.

QB Taulia Tagovailoa and the Terrapins rolled ahead of a two-week COVID-19 hiatus. INDIANA 35-27.

What can Bulldogs QB JT Daniels do for an encore against one of the SEC’s worst pass defenses after a rousing debut? GEORGIA 45-17.

Let’s listen for the Texas State Bobcats, who are about to turn 12. Stand game without moving it. COASTAL CAROLINA 42-21.

The Trojans will always try to beat the Buffs 15-0 if they can overcome some COVID-19 issues. USC 34-26.

The Red Raiders have won two games against the Cowboys. OKLAHOMA STATE 35-20.

Six of the last seven encounters have been decided by seven or fewer points, with the Ragin-Cajuns winning four of those close games. LOUISIANA-LAFAYETTE 38-17.

Perhaps the MAC game of the year: The Golden Lightning has accumulated 131 points in the last two games and the Bulls have scored at least 42 points in each game with a 3-0 start. BUFFALO 45-41.

It’s been a ragged season for both teams, but the winner is still alive for a spot in the AAC championship game. MEMPHIS 35-18.

The winless Nittany Lions and Wolverines won a great victory against Rutgers. Yes. PENN STATE 26-24.

Big Game’s rivals have recorded four losses, two canceled games and no wins. STANFORD 24-21.

The first eggshell with Mike Leach as the Bulldogs trainer and Lane Kiffin as the leader of the rebels. Let the fun begin. OLE MISS 45-38.
