JINGER Duggar and husband Jeremy Vuolo are having « deep conversations » about ending Counting On because of their « insane contract, » a source exclusively told The Sun..
The reality TV star couple who share two-year-old Felicity and the newborn Evangeline have been on screen for years. Jinger first appeared in 19 Kids and Counting – followed by her parents Michelle and Bob and their giant Brut.
The couple tied the knot in November 2016 after a brief advertisement of just over a year.
Fans of the show started speculating about the couple’s departure earlier this month after discovering the couple didn’t use the network to reveal their happy baby news.
When asked if the rumors they were leaving the show were true, a source told The Sun, « Yes. It’s not final yet, but they have deep conversations about quitting.
« The contracts with the network are a little crazy, they are very tightly linked and it prevents them from making money in many other ways.
« You can’t do a lot of media or appear on other TV shows, the money is controlled, it’s awful and they are now trying to build their lifestyle brand.
« You have had discussions with family members and the network about leaving the company and, not surprisingly, are desperate to keep her under contract for years to come. «
The source added, « What they make an episode is embarrassingly low as well, it’s just over 1. $ 500 for each of them.
« And there is definitely some drama about how the money is split between family members. «
The insider said Jinger, 26, and Jeremy, 33, signed a four-year deal that ends in 2022. They’re examining their options for the future after launching their own line of Christian-inspired accessories.
« Jinger grew up in front of the cameras, but she thinks it might be time to step back, especially now that they’ve moved to LA and do their own thing, » added the source.
« They would also be interested in getting involved in other TV projects in the future, but for now they are being prevented from doing so. «
Jinger’s sister Jill and her husband Derick Dillard left Counting On in 2017 – and he even accused the program of staging fake scenes.
Derick has given various reasons for leaving the show. His last claim last year was that he and Jill wanted to get out of a « bogus contract ». «
In a now-deleted tweet, Derick told a fan the couple had given up missionary work because « TLC wasn’t going to free us from a bogus contract we didn’t even know about. «
As the confused follower pushed him further, he added, « It makes perfect sense, considering that this is why we are stopping filming – TLC kept trying to keep us from doing missionary work. «
Meanwhile, viewers went to Reddit to speculate on whether Jinger and Jeremy will leave the show after failing to make a video of their second daughter’s birth.
One user wrote, « Why didn’t Jinger and Jeremy make a video for TLC to announce Evangeline’s birth?
« They usually do one right after the baby is born, but nothing so far. The show was renewed. Justin [Duggar] talked about it after his engagement. Are the breakout stars leaving the show? «
Another commenter intervened: « TLC wrote at least one post with a photo shoot. I think we’re seeing less as there is currently no active season. «
Jinger and Jeremy recently started their new business, Hope & Stead, after moving from Laredo, Texas to LA last year selling everything from hats to scented candles.
They also started recording their own podcast earlier this year and are releasing their first book, The Hope We Hold, in May – as they continue to build their empire.
The Sun reached out to Jinger and Jeremy’s agents who refused to comment while TLC didn’t respond.
